ABE’S ACHILLES RECOVERY – WALKING THE WALK

From Complete Rupture to Elite Performance: How I Practiced What I Preach

The Injury:

During a routine demonstration for my performance app, I did the one thing I tell everyone NOT to do—foot turned out with heel down during a stop-and-go drill. The result? A complete 8cm Achilles rupture with 50% posterior tibialis tendon damage. The sound still haunts me.

I went from rolling around on a scooter to wondering if I’d ever play sports again at 36 years old.

The Medical Verdict:

Doctors said I HAD to get surgery. They said I wouldn’t be able to run, jump, or be as explosive again. They said recovery would take 10 months minimum.

I said no. And I cut that timeline in HALF.

The 3 Systems | 1 Athlete Protocol:

Instead of surgery, I applied the same neuroscience-based approach I use with my clients:

Neurological Recovery:

  • Pain-free mobility exercises
  • Neural re-education (the piece most rehab programs miss)
  • Methodical progressive loading patterns
  • Positive mindset

Advanced Therapies:

  • Stem cell therapy for tissue regeneration
  • Red light therapy for cellular healing
  • Electro-Equiscope for pain management and recovery

Lifestyle Optimization:

  • Strategic sleep protocols
  • Anti-inflammatory nutrition strategies
  • Mind-body techniques: grounding, contrast baths

The Results:

90 Days – WITHOUT Surgery:

  • From scooter-bound to jogging
  • Back to pre-injury strength levels
  • Resumed sport training (Muay Thai, even skateboarding)

4 Months:

  • Conquered my signature 54″ box jump

5 Months:

  • Sprinting and playing lacrosse

1 Year Post-Injury (at 36 years old):

  • 33.5″ vertical jump (still touching rim)
  • 18.5 mph sprint speed (elite level)
  • Full change of direction capability
  • Successfully performed the EXACT same stop-and-go mechanics that caused the rupture—with perfect form this time

The Lesson:

I’m performing at levels I had in my twenties… at 36… post-complete rupture. This isn’t just about my comeback—it’s proof that the neuroscience-based methodology I teach actually works.

Your body wants to heal. You just have to give it the right tools, respect the process, and address the root neurological causes rather than just treating symptoms.

If I can go from a career-threatening injury to elite-level performance in half the expected time without surgery, imagine what we can do for your goals—whether that’s recovering from injury, optimizing athletic performance, or transforming your health.

I don’t just teach this approach. I live it.
